Juliana Ortiz

Biography

Juliana Ortiz works with clients at every stage of their immigration process, keeping things organized, clear, and moving forward. As a paralegal at Luqman Law, she focuses on making sure that both clients and the legal team are on the same page, because good communication is what allows a case to progress the right way.

At Luqman Law, Juliana prepares declarations, drafts legal correspondence, affidavits, and formal filings, gathers and organizes evidence for case preparation, and identifies applicable laws and legal materials for assigned cases. Clients who work with Juliana can expect consistent follow-through, straightforward communication, and the kind of careful attention that immigration matters require.

Her professional background covers multiple areas of law across several states. Prior to joining Luqman Law, Juliana worked as a paralegal in Texas at a family law litigation firm, where she managed case databases, drafted petitions, motions, final decrees, and orders, and handled court scheduling and e-filing. She also worked at two other immigration practices, where she prepared immigration forms, client declarations, and supporting documentation.

Juliana holds a law degree from the Externado University of Colombia, where she also served as a research assistant of the Business Law Department. She is currently focused on American Law and is working toward obtaining her L.L.M in the United States.

Juliana is fluent in English and Spanish, with conversational proficiency in French, a valuable asset when working with the diverse client base at Luqman Law.

Outside of the office, Juliana has dedicated five years to volunteering and educational programs in her community. She returned to immigration law after a period in family litigation, finding that the outcomes in immigration work feel more concrete — there is a clear before and after for the people involved, and that matters to her. When she is not working, she enjoys hiking, running, and traveling whenever she can.
